Privacy policy
The following page outlines how WhatPulse Professional uses and protects any information that you provide when using the software client and private dashboard.
WhatPulse Professional is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. By using WhatPulse Professional, you agree to this privacy policy.
Information collected
WhatPulse Professional collects information that is relevant to the purpose of our service. When you register for a WhatPulse Professional account, we will ask for your name and valid email address.
The software client collects statistics from your computer(s) as you direct it to. The types of statistics can vary, and you have the ability to turn off each individual type. The data collected by the software client is only available in your teams' private dashboard.
The information collected with the WhatPulse Professional client is only used for analytics within your private dashboard. We ensure that no information linked to your account will be sold or handed over to a third party.
Analytical usage data
At WhatPulse, we utilize Plausible Analytics, routed through our stats subdomain, on our website to gain insights into visitor behavior and assess the efficacy of our marketing efforts. We have selected Plausible Analytics due to its privacy-centric approach, which prioritizes anonymized aggregate data over personally identifiable information. No cookies are used and no personal data—not even an IP address or browser user agent—is stored. For more information on how Plausible Analytics handles data, please refer to their Data policy.
On the WhatPulse client application, Plausible Analytics is used as the backend to process usage data. Similar to the website, we track aggregated behavior, such as what pages and sections you looked at, for how long, and so on. This data is completely anonymized by randomly generating a Client ID per installation, which is not linked to your account in any way. This information is important to us for improving the user experience and determining WhatPulse client effectiveness and helps us prioritize features. If you would like to stop the WhatPulse client from collecting and sending your usage data, please disable the option called Send bug and usage reports. Click here for more information about the content, process, and usage of the data described here.
Keeping information safe
Your WhatPulse Professional account is protected by a password for your privacy and security. This password is securely encrypted. We encourage you to use strong passwords for additional security.
Only WhatPulse Professional staff who need personal information to perform a specific task (upon your request) are granted access to it. We ensure that all our employees and relevant parties are kept up to date on our privacy and security policies.
Third-party services - payment providers
WhatPulse Professional uses Paddle as its payment provider to handle transactions for premium memberships. Paddle is a third-party service that securely processes payments and stores data related to those transactions. Paddle will handle order details, billing information, and other relevant data necessary to process and manage payments. In addition, Paddle will provide notification to WhatPulse Professional team owners about payments & invoices, so we can activate WhatPulse Professional for your team.
For further information, please refer to Paddle's buyer privacy notice.
Data retention & deletion
Your data will be available in your private dashboard as long as you have a WhatPulse Professional account. You can delete your account at any time, which will remove all your data. You can find the option to delete your account in your organization management page. We will not retain any personal data once your account is deleted.
Data breach notification
In the event of a data breach impacting your personal data stored within WhatPulse Professional, we are committed to notifying you in a timely manner. We will make reasonable efforts to investigate and remediate any security incidents that may compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of your data. If a data breach occurs and we determine that it poses a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will promptly notify you through the contact information provided in your account. Our notification will include details about the nature of the breach, the types of data affected, and any recommended steps you should take to protect yourself.

This privacy policy is effective as of 26 December, 2023.
We may periodically update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our business practices or legal requirements. When we make any material changes to the policy, we will notify you through a prominent notice on our website or by email before the changes take effect.
